National Taiwan Ocean University Center of Media, Public Relations and Publishing

      National Taiwan Ocean University Teacher Education Professor Center Cheng-Chieh Chang(張正杰) won the individual award of Ministry of Education Social Education Contribution Award(教育部社會教育貢獻獎). Prof. Chang devotes himself to marine environment education, popular science, and science education.

      Prof. Chang’s contribution includes joining the editing team of Taiwan’s first marine education guidebook. He also participated in translating the ocean literacy framework “Ocean Literacy Scope & Sequence for Grades K-12.”

       As a former high school teacher for over ten years, Prof. Chang is determined to influence more students by nurturing teachers with marine literacy. His effort encourages teachers to apply marine literacy to compulsory education.
