NTOU Visits Nha Trang University to Strengthen Academic Cooperation and Recruitment Efforts
National Taiwan Ocean University (NTOU) sent a delegation led by Vice Dean of International Affairs Prof. Chih-Chieh Young to visit its partner institution, Nha Trang University (NTU) in Vietnam from March 5 to 7. The visit included bilateral academic meetings, student recruitment activities, and participation in an international conference, highlighting NTOU’s ongoing commitment to internationalization and Taiwan–Vietnam higher education collaboration.

During the visit, the NTOU delegation was warmly received by Prof. Trang Si Trung, former President of Nha Trang University, Mr. Luong Dinh Duy, Vice President for International Affairs, and faculty members from the School of Fisheries and Life Sciences and the College of Engineering. Both universities engaged in discussions on academic development, research strengths, and future collaboration opportunities. Building upon existing cooperation in aquaculture, the two sides agreed to further promote faculty exchanges, joint research, and student mobility programs.

To attract outstanding Vietnamese students, NTOU also organized a recruitment session at Nha Trang University. Mr. Sean Cheng-Hsien Chang from the Office of International Affairs introduced NTOU’s academic programs, research strengths, and scholarship opportunities. The session drew strong interest from local students, who actively asked questions about admission requirements and research opportunities.

In addition, the NTOU delegation participated in the international conference “Marine Litter Prevention and Sustainable Practices towards a Circular Economy – MARLISPACE 2026.” Prof. Chih-Chieh Young, Associate Prof. Ying-Ning Ho, and Associate Prof. Ruei-Feng Shiu served as session chairs and presenters, sharing NTOU’s research on marine environmental issues and contributing to discussions on marine litter and sustainability.
The delegation also included Prof. Pai-Chen Guan, Vice Dean of the College of Engineering; Prof. Hsueh-Jung Lu from the Department of Environmental Biology and Fisheries Science; Associate Prof. Ruei-Feng Shiu from the Institute of Marine Environment and Ecology; Associate Prof. Ying-Ning Ho from the Institute of Marine Biology; and Mr. Sean Cheng-Hsien Chang from the Office of International Affairs.
This visit further strengthened the partnership between NTOU and Nha Trang University and opened new opportunities for academic collaboration, student exchange, and international research cooperation in marine-related fields.
