National Taiwan Ocean University (NTOU) and the University of Lille (ULille) have maintained strong ties, fostering productive interactions. On December 4, ULille’s Vice-President for International and European Affairs, Prof. Nil Toulouse, visited NTOU to discuss student exchange, internships, research programs, and summer camps. The discussions resulted in key agreements, with plans to formalize the collaboration through a signing ceremony in France next year.

The meeting reflected the shared vision of both universities to advance international academic cooperation. ULille committed to providing detailed information and contractual specifics on the European Union’s Erasmus program, enabling NTOU to explore student mobility opportunities. ULille also encouraged NTOU students to join its summer camp programs to enhance their global exposure..

Discussions included potential collaboration under Taiwan’s National Science and Technology Council (NSTC) internship programs, leveraging mutual resources to enrich academic and professional opportunities for students. To deepen ties, the universities plan to host virtual matchmaking sessions to connect faculty members in specific fields, fostering interdisciplinary collaboration and innovative research.

The ULille delegation, led by Vice-President Prof. Nil Toulouse, included Prof. Pascal Grandin, Director of IAE Lille University School of Management, and Ms. Arielle Meunier, International Strategic Partnerships Manager. NTOU was represented by Vice President Fan-Hua Nan, Dean of International Affairs Prof. Yu-Wei Chang, Pin-Wen Chiou, Director of the International Cooperation Division, and Assistant Prof. Yen-Ju Pan from the Department of Aquaculture. After the meeting, the delegation toured NTOU’s Aquatic Animal Center, learning about the university’s achievements in marine ecological research.
