The Polish Academy of Sciences visits NTOU for an in-depth exchange on ocean and water resources engineering

PAN visits NTOU

National Taiwan Ocean University's programs in ocean engineering and water resources engineering have gained international recognition. On October 4th, Prof. Waldemar Świdziński, the Director of the Institute of Hydro-Engineering (IBW PAN) at the Polish Academy of Sciences, led a team to visit the university. They engaged in extensive discussions with President Tai-Wen Hsu (許泰文) and the research team, delving into advanced technologies in the fields of ocean and water resources engineering and planning future opportunities for international academic cooperation and exchange activities.

The research team from the Polish Academy of Sciences explored Ocean University's Ocean Engineering Laboratory and had in-depth discussions with Professor Shuen-Tai Ung (翁順泰) and Professor Ruey-Syan Shih (石瑞祥) to understand the latest developments and research directions in ocean and water resources engineering. They also visited the Aquatic Animal Experiment Center to gain insights into Ocean University's achievements and innovations in aquatic ecology research.

This visit not only promotes academic exchange but also aims to create an environment where young international experts can engage in dialogue and learning. It is expected to open the door to more international collaboration opportunities in the future, further advancing scientific research and cutting-edge technology in the fields of ocean and water resources engineering.

The visiting team from the Polish Academy of Sciences includes Prof. Waldemar Świdziński, the Director of the Institute of Hydro-Engineering, as well as Deputy Director Dr. Piotr Szmytkiewicz, Head of the Coastal Engineering and Dynamics Department Prof. Rafał Ostrowski, and Prof. Grzegorz Różyński, among other renowned experts from the international academic community.
