On the morning of March 7th, President of Republic of China, Ing-Wen Tsai(蔡英文), met Prof. Tai-Wen Hsu(許泰文), President of National Taiwan Ocean University (NTOU), to recognize that NTOU took first place in the 2022 Industrial-Academic Cooperation excellent leaderboard. It was a significant achievement since NTOU has been recognized as "Excellent Industrial-Academic Cooperation Institution" for four consecutive years by Chinese Institute of Engineers (中國工程師學會,CIE).

NTOU has maintained close collaboration between industries in wide varicosity by contributing strength in such fields as engineering, environmental science, and biotechnology. To date, NTOU has accepted evaluating environmental impact assessment (EIA) requests around Taiwan, and has also utilized the advantage of academic resources to undergo simulation tests, including engineering and sailing. Big businesses such as Taipower, China Steel Corporation (CSC), Taipei Metro, and YangMing Marine Transport Corp. have continued long-term collaborative projects with NTOU.
CIE speaks on behalf of the engineering industry and makes propositions and recommendations for government’s reference. In honor of NTOU’s winning the top 1 Excellence in Industrial-Academic Cooperation Institution Award, CIE recommended that NTOU meet president Ing-Wen Tsai for recognition.
