From October 29 to November 2, National Taiwan Ocean University (NTOU) delegation, led by Dean of International Affairs, Prof. Yu-Wei Chang, visited two partner universities in the Philippines to further academic exchanges and international partnerships. The delegation visited the University of the Philippines Visayas in Iloilo and Mapua University in Manila, holding a specialized workshop in Food Science at the University of the Philippines Visayas. This visit highlighted NTOU’s commitment to expanding global collaboration and influence.

The delegation engaged in in-depth discussions with both universities, focusing on degree programs, short-term exchange opportunities, and scholarship options, while actively promoting NTOU’s academic offerings. The initiatives were met with strong interest from students and faculty at the University of the Philippines, and Mapua University confirmed its intent to send several students to NTOU for short-term programs and degree studies. These exchanges reinforce NTOU’s international brand and establish a foundation for future academic cooperation.

The NTOU delegation included Dean of International Affairs Prof. Yu-Wei Chang, Assoc. Prof. Po-Wei Tsai from the Department of Food Science, staff from the Office of International Affairs, and a group of graduate students from the Food Science Department. At the University of the Philippines Visayas, the delegation was warmly received by Dean of the College of Fisheries and Ocean Sciences Prof. Harold Monteclaro, Director of the Institute of Fish Processing Technology Prof. Rhoda Mae C. Simora, and Assistant Prof. Lhumen A. Tejano. At Mapua University, the delegation was welcomed by Dean Prof. Lemmuel Tayo of the College of Health Sciences and several faculty members.
